Asset Living’s Nicole Koenig Shares Advice on #BecomingAnAsset

Today we are hearing from Nicole Koenig, Community Manager.

What is your background and experience in and what do you do within Asset Living?

“I have four years of experience in leasing and marketing paired with my love for customer service! I currently work as an on-site Community Manager at The Mill, where I help those find their home away from home. I use my marketing experience to promote my property as well, and work hand in hand with my team to ensure a smooth and positive leasing experience. My customer service skills help keep my residents happy while living at our property and bringing in new prospects.”

What piece of advice would you give to a new employee who is #BecomingAnAsset?

“Keep an open mind and a positive outlook on your position! Be open to learning new skills from positions both higher and lower than you. My philosophy is that one can never stop learning in this job! Trust your team, and they will trust you!”

What drives you to be the best team member possible?

“Helping others develop and understand is part of being a leader. I try to mentor and build relationships with my staff so that we can all grow together. I try to put myself in the position of others because I think that without understanding what others go through, you can’t educate them.”  

What is your favorite memory from this year or within your career at Asset Living?

“Given the opportunity to expand my manager role in Harrisonburg. I’ve been to three other markets, and this one is my favorite! I enjoyed stepping out of my comfort zone and taking on a new challenge.”

Lastly, what do you like to do outside of work in your free time?

“I like to engage myself in the local community when I can, especially a good Farmer’s Market! I also love to cook when I am not at work, so I’ve been enjoying new recipes! Most of the time, I spend it with family or my boyfriend!”
