At Asset Living, whether you're working from the office or from home, finding the right balance is key to a fulfilling workday. In this edition of our Local Favorites, we explore the places and practices that keep our team energized and productive. Today, we’re hearing from Asset Ambassador and Vice President of Leasing and Training for the Student Housing Division, Debra Baldacci based in Rancho Cucamonga, CA on her favorite spots and tips for a successful workday.
What do you enjoy most about the area you work in?
Rancho Cucamonga provides an ideal blend of urban and suburban lifestyles, showcasing the finest of Southern California with easy access to mountains, the desert, and beaches. I frequently hike in our local mountains with my dog, Max. Throughout the week, we love to stroll along the Pacific Electric Trail, a multi-use path that follows the historic route of the Pacific Electric Railway.
Local Spotlight:
Nestled along the historic Route 66, you'll find a charming local coffee spot known as Klatch Coffee. One of the café's standout features is its location in a building that once served as one of California's oldest wineries, The Thomas Vineyard. My go to drink is the on tap cold brew.
Favorite Lunch Spot:
A favorite lunch spot of mine is Old Town Baking Company, located in Rancho Cucamonga. Old Town is a family-owned bakery that specializes in making a variety of delicious breads. My go to order is a veggie sandwich on their fresh baked marble rye bread and a side of Italian shortbread cookies.
Productivity Tips:
To stay productive while working from home, I stick to a consistent routine. Utilizing my Microsoft to-do list is my go-to for maintaining my deliverables and staying on track with my goals. Additionally, having a designated office space that is comfortable and provides natural light helps to keep my mood bright. When not on calls, listening to music keeps me in the zone and focused while working on tasks.
Team Bonding Adventures:
As a remote worker, I have increasingly depended on Microsoft Teams to engage with my colleagues and team members. I appreciate how the culture of online meetings has shifted to include the use of video, making connections feel more personal. Additionally, holding regular team meetings not only allows us to check in, but also gives us the opportunity to share enjoyable topics beyond work, such as our favorite books, music, or personal hobbies.
