Located at the Southwest corner of 21st Street and Nueces Street, Torre stands in the heart of West Campus at the University of Texas in Austin. Unit interiors are designed to accommodate the many types of residents that attend the university with units ranging from affordable, rent-subsidized studios, and double occupancy options equipped with private sinks and wall-mounted TVs, to large townhomes with double height, all-glass window living rooms, and spacious bedrooms with walk-in closets. The unit furniture package is custom-tailored to the variety of unit types and provides residents with options for modular sofas, ping pong tables, built-in study bars with wall-to-wall corkboards/whiteboards, and both movable and built-in study desks. Torre is a dynamic blend of thoughtful and innovative design solutions on a challenging site in one of the most competitive markets in the country.

Our Approach
Torre’s tiered composition provides three levels of vast unit terraces. The required 62-degree setback on the north side of the building was thoughtfully designed in tandem with the even distribution of townhomes and flats to create the building’s layered approach, with each strata representing a shift in the program while directly responding to the zoning setback plane. This is one of the first student housing developments nationwide to integrate 50% of its units being townhomes in a high-rise structure.
The Results
Torre utilizes a tailored three-dimensional marketing program that functions virtually and in person, allowing each resident to be able to choose their unit with a robust rendering package that provides a virtual tour of each unit and a 3D model of the entire building—all of which are fully integrated into the property’s website.
